There are several reasons why a bean might not be producing:

  1. Beans need 8 – 10 hours of full sunlight.
  2. Beans planted too close together will have lower production.
  3. Large swings in soil moisture can cause blooms to fall off.
  4. Bean plants like temperatures 70 – 80 degrees.  If the temperatures are consistently over 85 – 90 degrees and/or you have lots of hot dry winds, the flowers can deteriorate or just drop off the plants.
  5. High nitrogen levels in the soil will produce lots of foliage but no blooms or beans.
